Persistence modules

I am really interested in the project ideas subscribed by thousand parsec.

I would like to get clarified some points related to the persistance modules

* Has new modules to be written based on a new interface ( "there is likely to be changes to the interface" in the project ideas page)?

* Is it expected to implement new modules based on an asynchronous model ?
